URL encoder & decoder
Encode and decode URL text with UTF-8 percent encoding. Convert query values or full URLs, handle plus signs and copy the result in your browser.
Text is converted on your device. This tool does not send your input to a server or open the entered URL.
How URL encoding works
1. Encode a parameter value
Use the default mode for a single query value or path segment. For example, a b&c becomes a%20b%26c. Characters such as /, ?, & and = are encoded so they are not treated as URL separators.
2. Preserve a full URL
Full URL mode keeps separators such as :, /, ?, &, = and #. Decoding also keeps encoded reserved separators: %2F stays %2F. To decode every escape, use parameter value mode.
3. Choose how to handle +
By default spaces become %20 and a literal + becomes %2B. Enable Spaces ↔ + for form-style query values: a+b decodes to a b, while %2B decodes to a literal +. This option is disabled for full URLs.
UTF-8, errors and repeated encoding
Korean and emoji use UTF-8. Invalid escapes such as %ZZ or incomplete UTF-8 cannot be decoded; the input is kept. Convert one layer at a time: %2520 decodes to %20, not a space. Encoding an already encoded value escapes its % again. URL encoding is not encryption.
